Expert Therapy for ADHD, Anxiety & Depression in Silver Spring, MD
Specialized, personalized mental health care for adolescents, college students, and adults — from a licensed clinician with 20 years of experience and a genuine commitment to knowing every patient as a whole person.
Therapy Built Around You — Not Around a Schedule
Good therapy takes time. It takes a clinician who listens, who understands the full picture, and who can build a relationship that lasts. B.L. Meader LCSW-C Therapy is a deliberately small, private-pay practice designed so that every patient gets unhurried, thoughtful care — the kind of care that does not happen when providers are asked to see dozens of patients a day.
Whether you are newly diagnosed, returning to therapy after a long break, or searching for a clinician who finally understands how ADHD affects every area of life, you will find a warm, experienced partner here.
Areas of Clinical Support
If any of the following describes what you or your loved one is navigating,
this practice may be the right fit:
Specialized Care for the Challenges That Most Affect Daily Life
This practice focuses on the overlapping conditions that so often appear together — and that so often get treated incompletely elsewhere.
Comprehensive therapy and coaching for clients who struggle with focus, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and the self-criticism that so often accompanies ADHD. Briana’s primary clinical specialty, with seven years of dedicated experience.
Evidence-based treatment for the anxious thought patterns and worry that can quietly take over your sleep, your focus, and your relationships.
CBT and DBT-informed care for teens, young adults, and adults.
Support for depression and mood-related symptoms, whether they appear on their own or alongside ADHD. Treatment focuses on understanding what is driving the symptoms, rebuilding routines, and developing tools that make daily life feel more livable.
Thoughtful, respectful therapy for autistic adolescents and adults, including those with co-occurring ADHD. Six years of focused experience supporting clients on the spectrum to build self-understanding, manage anxiety, and navigate relationships.
Meet Briana Meader, LCSW-C
Briana Meader, LCSW-C, LICSW, LCSW — Founder /Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Silver Spring, MD
A highly experienced psychotherapist who has practiced in the Washington-Baltimore area since 2006, Briana founded this practice so that her patients would never again be subject to the disruption of a clinic closing its doors without notice. Her approach is warm, down-to-earth, and deeply personalized.
Specialties:
Care That Puts Patients First
This practice exists because patients deserve better than revolving-door therapy. When the large practice where Briana worked closed its doors overnight in January 2026, she chose to strike out on her own rather than join another group.
She aimed to continue to provide her patients with the unhurried, individualized care they had come to rely on. That decision is the foundation of B.L. Meader LCSW-C Therapy, LLC. Every aspect of this practice is designed to protect the quality of care and the therapeutic relationship.
“I went into this because I care about people. My patients are not a caseload to me — they are real human beings I am deeply invested in. That is the standard I hold myself to every single day.”
— Briana Meader, LCSW-C
Our Core Therapeutic Approaches
Every client is different, so every treatment plan should be, too. Briana draws from several evidence-based modalities and chooses the tools that best fit each client’s goals, age, and learning style.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Reshape negative thought patterns and core beliefs. Briana has completed 50+ hours at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Build skills to manage intense emotions and reactivity. DBT skills are integrated into individual therapy sessions; group programs are not offered.
Mindfulness Practices
Woven into sessions to support calm, focus, and a sense of safety — a foundation that makes every other tool work better.
Motivational Interviewing
A collaborative approach that helps clients move through ambivalence and commit to the changes they actually want.
Therapeutic Interventions for ADHD
Practical, ADHD-specific strategies integrated directly into therapy for time, tasks, transitions, and daily functioning.
Trauma-Informed Care
Grounded in specialized postgraduate training in trauma treatment from the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
