Anxiety Treatment in Silver Spring, MD

Evidence-based anxiety therapy for adolescents, young adults, and adults across Silver Spring, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

What Is Anxiety Treatment?

Anxiety treatment is psychotherapy designed to help patients identify the thought patterns and physical responses that drive chronic worry or panic, and to build the skills to respond differently. At B.L. Meader LCSW-C Therapy, anxiety is treated as a distinct clinical focus and as a common companion to ADHD, depression, and life stressors. The goal is not just to reduce anxious symptoms but to help patients build a genuinely more manageable relationship with anxiety itself.

Our Approach

Every anxiety treatment plan begins with understanding how the anxiety shows up — as physical sensation, as intrusive thought, as avoidance, as perfectionism. From there, Briana draws on the modalities best suited to each client: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify and restructure anxious thinking; Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, integrated into individual sessions, for distress tolerance and emotion regulation; and mindfulness practices to build present-moment awareness and a sense of safety.

For clients whose anxiety is tangled up with ADHD, depression, or past trauma, treatment is designed to address the whole picture rather than treating anxiety
in isolation.

What We Provide

Who Benefits from Anxiety Treatment?

Anxiety therapy helps anyone whose worry, fear, or panic is interfering with sleep, relationships, academic performance, work, or quality of life. Common presentations include teens with school-related anxiety, college students experiencing panic attacks, young professionals struggling with high-functioning anxiety, and adults for whom chronic worry has simply become the backdrop of daily life. Briana treats anxiety in adolescents ages 13 and up and adults up to age 70.
