About B.L. Meader LCSW-C Therapy
A deliberately small, specialized practice built around the belief that every patient deserves the time, expertise, and continuity of care that meaningful therapy requires.

A Philosophy of Care Built on Relationships
Briana Meader is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has practiced in the Washington-Baltimore area since 2006. Over her 20-year career, she has worked across nearly every level of mental health care: leading an outpatient partial-hospitalization program at a psychiatric hospital, providing therapy and case management at two long-term psychiatric residential treatment centers, delivering school-based therapy at a special-education school for students with emotional and behavioral disorders, conducting mental health assessments in a hospital emergency department, and spending seven years in the behavioral health department of a busy outpatient medical center, before most recently practicing at a private ADHD specialty clinic in Bethesda, Maryland.
When a clinician has seen the full continuum of mental health care, very little is unfamiliar — which translates into steadier, more confident treatment, especially for the complex presentations that so often get misunderstood or under-treated elsewhere.
“I went into this because I care about people. My patients are not a caseload to me — they are real human beings I am deeply invested in.” — Briana Meader, LCSW-C

Why This Practice Exists
B.L. Meader LCSW-C Therapy, LLC was founded in January 2026 out of a commitment to Briana’s patients. When the large specialty clinic she had worked at for nearly seven years abruptly closed its doors, Briana chose not to join another group practice. Instead, she opened her own — so that her patients, some of whom she had been treating for more than six years, could continue their care without disruption.
That experience clarified everything about how this practice is run. The caseload is kept modest, not maximized. Sessions are unhurried. The private-pay model keeps administrative burdens low so that time can go to patients rather than to insurance paperwork. And Briana personally handles every new inquiry, because the therapeutic relationship starts the first time a new patient picks up the phone.
A Focused Specialty in ADHD & Co-Occurring Conditions
For the last seven years, Briana worked in a specialty ADHD practice treating adolescents and adults. That concentrated experience shaped her into a clinician who genuinely understands how ADHD affects every area of life — work, school, relationships, self-worth, and day-to-day functioning.
Briana is particularly experienced with clients whose ADHD overlaps with other conditions — anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or autism spectrum traits. These complex, co-occurring presentations are common, often misunderstood, and deserve a clinician who can see the whole picture rather than treating each diagnosis in isolation.
She is equally comfortable treating anxiety and depression as standalone conditions. That range comes from the breadth of her career across hospital, residential, and outpatient settings — long before she narrowed her focus to ADHD specialty care.
How Briana Works & Who She Serves
Therapy with Briana is collaborative, not prescriptive. She draws from CBT, DBT skills, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and ADHD-informed coaching, personalized to each client’s goals, age, and learning style. With adolescents, she engages parents when clinically appropriate; with adults, her approach stays warm, practical, and honest.
Briana has worked with adolescents for her entire 20-year career and with adults for the past 10+ years. Her caseload spans:
Adolescents (ages 13+), many of whom she's followed since middle or high school
College students and young adults, a natural continuation of her adolescent care
Adults across every decade — from their 20s through their 60s and 70s, including many in their 40s and 50s seeking ADHD or mood disorder treatment
Parents of adolescent and young adult clients, involved in treatment when clinically appropriate
Continuity matters here: Briana has patients she’s treated for six years or more, including adolescents she met in the 8th or 9th grade who are now heading off to college.
